Dear Klaus,
Dear Nicole,
a few weeks have now passed since we said goodbye in Madagascar and the daily routine in Luxembourg is keeping us firmly in check again.
Only slowly I can get used to the European meat cuisine again; I miss the zebus, in all their variety, very much.
So far, not a day has gone by that we haven't thought of you and the red island.
Madagascar has touched us deeply, not least because of you two.
Together we traveled in a Toyota Land Cruiser for 10 days from Antananarivo to Antsirabe, Ranomafana, Manakra, Ambalavao and back.
We saw great animals, marveled at breathtaking natural scenery and stayed in fantastic hotels with excellent food.
Particularly noteworthy is the remote Hotel La Vanille on the beach of Manakar. Back to basics is the motto there with just 2-3 hours of electricity and running water per day.
However, the hospitality, good food and fantastic location is priceless. The real luxury at La Vanille is that you are almost completely cut off from the outside world during the time you spend there. It is that luxury of deceleration, of coming to rest and of non-accessibility - dreamlike - and hardly imaginable in the western world.
Thanks to Klaus and Nicole, almost anything is possible in Madagascar. Whether it's a spontaneous paragliding flight in the mountains of Ambalavao or a bottle of French champagne in the bush, Klaus and Nicole make it possible.
We would therefore like to take this opportunity to thank you once again from the bottom of our hearts for everything you have made possible; you have provided us with an unforgettable honeymoon.
We had many expectations when we came to Madagascar and all of them were fulfilled. We took away wonderful memories and on top of that we made two wonderful new friends on the other side of the world.
We miss you very much and wish you all the best!
