Via the RN 1 it goes to various tourist highlights

For those who don't like big tours and travel plans, a small exploration trip can start directly in the capital Antananarivo. From there it is only a proverbial stone's throw to the famous Lemurs Park, the a first impression of the animal world of the island of Madagascar. The park is located about twenty kilometers from the capital and is easily accessible via the solidly built RN 1. From here you can either drive directly to Arivonimamo. This place is a little more than forty kilometers from Antananarivo and is the ideal starting point for trekking tours in particular. Although the area has not yet been extensively developed for tourists, this can be a tempting attraction for adventurers. We too are always interested in tours and Experiences in Madagascar, which are located away from the tourist mainstream. If you are in Arivonimamo do not want to set out on an individual trekking tour, we recommend traveling about fifty kilometers further by car. First of all, you will now reach regions that are economically very important for the country: Here, gray-white marble is quarried and traditional shrouds produced. Numerous tapia trees also line the path here and serve as an important source of nutrition for the precious wild silkworms. At the end of the path then lays Analavory, a place that serves as an ideal starting point for numerous excursions and discovery tours can be considered. By the way, many of the highlights of this region are known as real insider tips and you can be glad that you will not be met by masses of tourists. Below we present three examples of excursion destinations in this region, which are especially close to our hearts and which are worthy of your Madagascar vacation in our experience will certainly make it an unforgettable experience.

The Lac Itasy

Lac Itasy invites tourists and travelers to take a long walk followed by a detour to Ampefy. Lac Itasy is surrounded by a spectacular landscape with numerous volcanic coneswhich tell of the volcanic origin of the island of Madagascar. At the lake itself you can find numerous restaurants and bungalow complexn - enjoy the impressive panorama while sipping a delicious cocktail or stay overnight if you like, in order to be close to the relaxing atmosphere to be able to surrender completely. The climate in the area of Ampefy and Lac Itasy is extremely popular with Europeans, as it is very mild. Also, the prosperity of the region possesses a certain charm that makes it extremely attractive for tourists to spend a few days at Lac Itasy or even directly in Ampefy. In this case, however, we recommend to contact us in time, so that we can organize an appropriate overnight stay for you. According to our experience, many Madagascans are often attracted to this region at the weekends.

The geysers of Andranomandraotra

The small village of Andranomandraotra is located about fifteen kilometers west of Analavory and has with the various geysers a spectacular attraction in stock. The geysers rise from the bottom of the river valley and spew out bubbling, lukewarm water that is very rich in iron and minerals. We recommend the Tour of the area with an experienced guidewho can not only tell you all kinds of interesting information about the geysers, but who can also show you how the openings of the geysers can be closed for a short time in order to then make a huge water fountain to conjure up. Be sure to also take a look at a small hole in the ground that can be discovered on the hillside. This hole in the ground is enriched with a heavy and very dense gas that displaces all oxygen inside the hole in the ground. In all likelihood, this is carbon dioxide - a clear sign of this is also the effervescent nature of the thermal water, which really begins to tickle the mouth. You will also be enchanted by the surrounding landscape, in which the sulfur-yellow towering geysers are a real highlight. Amateur photographers will find numerous worthwhile motifs on site. The well developed rest area not only invites you to marvel, but also offers clean toilets and numerous picnic facilities that invite you to linger.

Help

FOR MADAGASCAR

After 10 months of total inactivity, self-employed people in the tourism industry in Madagascar are completely without income. There is no opening of the borders in sight in Madagascar and we are at the beginning of the rainy season, which is the low season, even in normal times. I have started a fundraiser for the guides and drivers I know well. From this money we will buy rice and other essentials and distribute them regularly, if possible, until the resumption of travel activities in April 2021 at the earliest. My special thanks to those who have already donated. I will start buying rice tomorrow and will begin distributing it this week.
