Klaus is a Madagascar specialist and this is very evident in the travel preparations, the planning that fits perfectly with the season and the wishes of his guests. He specializes in individual trips and his staff are absolutely capable of implementing the plans on site with German thoroughness. The vehicles were always in very good condition and withstood the extremely poor infrastructure without any breakdowns. We were warned against visiting the Tsingy for safety reasons, no other provider had even mentioned this. A clear recommendation for experiencing Madagascar individually!... Collapse

Hi Klaus, thanks again and again for this great trip! No idea why no travel guide considers January a good time to visit Madagascar. The fear of the rainy season is completely unfounded. We had really insanely beautiful 16 days with Aina, our driver, whom you could ask about any topic and who read all our wishes from our eyes. The perfect organization of Klaus was really super - despite our somewhat curious route requests. We come back in any case and absolutely again when it is winter with us and summer there.... Collapse

Hello Klaus, Hello Fara, dear guests! Africa should not be lumped together, but the sub-Saharan region certainly has one thing in common: it can also be narrow, especially if you go away from the beaten track, which I had in mind. By bike the RN5 to Maroantsetra and further without road to Antalaha and back to Tana. There is not much on the Internet, especially not for cyclists. Many think it is not possible. At home all mean, one is crazy. Klaus means, well, it does, so in principle. You just have to consider a few things. How do you divide the route. Where are there overnight accommodations and how are they. How is the road, road would be really exaggerated and Rue National is a joke. Sand, stones slush, ... When is it feasible. When does the rain come. How are the rivers to cross. How does it look with water and food, where can you set up a time and what must be considered, etc.. Surely Klaus does not know everything, but he knows a lot and if he does not know it, he knows the one who knows it and he in turn knows a lot and also steps into action, which then of course also costs something, but through which this little adventure becomes and became manageable for me as a normal person and an unforgettable experience in my life. Klaus has made this possible with his family and his people, while still serving a glass of wonderful red wine. Do I need more words, or longer sentences? I think not. So to you Klaus a big thank you and to you guests unforgettable moments in Madagascar.... Collapse

In September 22, we fulfilled our wish of a trip to Madagascar. That everything worked out so great, we owe Klaus. Starting with the warm welcome by him and his family, he made all our wishes come true! He truly made the impossible possible for us! With Nirina, our driver/guide, we experienced an impressive journey. He brought us closer to his country and the Malagasy culture and we felt very safe and comfortable at all times. We thank again Klaus and his whole extended family for this unforgettable trip and send our very dearest greetings from Switzerland!... Collapse

Dear Klaus, well, what else to write that has not already been mentioned here a dozen times. Perfect communication from the first contact, after all 8 months before the start of the trip, until the last day of the trip. We had chosen the route from Tana to Tulear (Sarodrano) with a detour by FCE to Manakara and a boat trip on the 'Canal des Pangalanes'. Everything went smoothly, we felt well and safe everywhere. A big thank you also to our driver and guide Aina, who brought us the 3 weeks safely through the country. Aina had an answer to every question, often before it was even asked. Through him there were many spontaneous encounters with the people along the route. Thank you all for this unforgettable trip, we will be back, promised.... Collapse

You often have to do something great just to be able to live for a while again (J. W. v. Goethe). We definitely had a great time in Madagascar! This actually poor country offers so much richness: first of all the very friendly people (Klaus with his family, our driver Mamy and Dorsa), the variety of landscapes (especially Isalo, Indian Ocean and Canal des Pangalanes) and the unique wildlife. The trip was well organized, the tour led through quite varied areas and the accommodations were consistently great (besides Villa Sibylle, we liked La Bella Donna in Ifaty and Isalo Rock Lodge). Not to forget the Palmarium Lodge, because there you could experience the lemurs very close. Thank you very much again for everything!... Collapse

Dear Klaus, what can I say?! I can still see Fara's face in front of me when she and the children picked me up at the airport - so much cordiality, so much hospitality, and all that for a stranger. Perhaps this is the Malagasy way of life that is so natural to you and still so incomprehensible to me. I came with no plans and had an unforgettable time in Madagascar thanks to you and the people around you: riding a Harley with JJ to the west coast (the most indescribable of all experiences - so recommended!!!), paragliding over the volcanic craters of Ampefy, vis-a-vis with sea turtles while diving on Nosy Be and a rendezvous with the panther chameleons on Nosy Faly.... - Whatever I was in the mood for, you made it happen. So spontaneous, so uncomplicated, so warm. MERCI MERCI MERCI. In short: Klaus knows Madagascar like no other, is the best organizer for whatever and has his heart in the right place - an absolute recommendation!... Collapse

Hello, we have cycled in mid-June 2019 with bikes borrowed from Klaus along(not always on) the RN7 from Antananarivo to Tulear and then back by plane to Antananarivo. The trip was beautiful, the bikes good and everything worked out. June is a good time to bike in Madagascar because it is not that warm. However, sometimes it gets quite chilly in the evening, you should take warm clothes. We were able to relax at the end of one day in the beautiful Villa Sibylle of Klaus. We cycled on our own. If you want to be on the safe side, e.g. with regard to overnight stays or breakdown assistance, you should take advantage of Klaus' offer to make the tour with a support vehicle organized by him.... Madagascar has inspired us. From Tana to Ifaty and back with the many NP and a landscape worth seeing. The people are although very poor extremely friendly and always have a smile ready for us. We were 3 men high as individual travelers with a van on the road. Our driver AINA is not only a very good driver but also a very good guide, he knows the best places to photograph, to eat and to visit e.g. the NP. Aina speaks English, French and of course the local language and was happy to interpret for us. He was very sympathetic to us and his friendly, helpful manner contributed significantly to the fact that we are so enthusiastic about Madagascar. We booked the car with Klaus Konerth and were very satisfied with the entire handling.... Collapse

Dear Klaus, it is already 7 months ago that we started our trip to Madagascar and it is unforgettable! Unfortunately, the everyday life had us all too quickly again, so that the feedback for your guestbook was missing. Sorry for that. Dear Klaus, it was an impressive and perfectly organized trip. Everything worked incredibly well, all agreements and wishes that we had previously expressed, you and your team have implemented. Starting with the warm welcome and the smooth arrival at Villa Sibylle. We then flew from Tana in the direction of Toliara. Were a few days to arrive at the Residence Eden Eco Lodge, that was a time in paradise, really. We felt so comfortable there and still think with respect about the project of Jean Philippe and his wife. It's a great way to help and respect the people there. After a few days, Mr. Bean, our driver, came and made with us the big tour on the RN7 back towards Tana with all the desired side trips, in total we drove with him a good 2500 km, always sovereign and local knowledge. Numerous park visits and also some small village stops off the route. It was certainly not always the superlatives, but we did not look for them, it was the humanity and the satisfaction that we encountered. It was impressive , worked out perfectly and can only be recommended for people who want to explore a country in this way and get such a safe and multi-layered impression, this kind of trip and booking with Klaus is really recommended. Klaus was like an invisible companion during our trip, because in the background our arrivals or visits were always well prepared by him. On this way again a hearty thank you Ralf and Bine... Dear Klaus! Now our 26-day vacation in Madagascar is already 4 weeks ago and still the many impressions are present to us as if it was yesterday. The excellently organized tour began with a 3-day side trip to Masoala Forest Lodge. This was our wish; you can do it, but you don't have to. That is the individual decision, whether the price-performance ratio suits you. Everything worked out and on site everything was 100%. Afterwards we went via Antsirabe, Manakara, Ranomafana and Isalo Rock to the west coast. Our big thanks goes to Bin -our driver- , who despite chickens, zebu carts, potholes and people on the roads always had everything under control. We have driven ourselves in many places in the world; whether we would have mastered Madagascar is rather doubtful. Special thanks to Jessi, our German speaking guide, who was like a dear daughter to us. Jessi and Bin were in perfect harmony and no question was left unanswered. We certainly learned much more about the people and Madagascar in general than with a group tour. For us the highlights were the chameleons, lemurs, macaques and the friendly and open people. So far, we have never experienced that so many wanted to be photographed and as a thank you just wanted to see the picture in the display. Often the laughter was loud and the joy was great to see the own picture there. We can recommend Klaus and his team to 100%. Jessi, Klaus and Bin gave us a great vacation. For this again many thanks!... Collapse

FOR MADAGASCAR

After 10 months of total inactivity, self-employed people in the tourism industry in Madagascar are completely without income. There is no opening of the borders in sight in Madagascar and we are at the beginning of the rainy season, which is the low season, even in normal times. I have started a fundraiser for the guides and drivers I know well. From this money we will buy rice and other essentials and distribute them regularly, if possible, until the resumption of travel activities in April 2021 at the earliest. My special thanks to those who have already donated. I will start buying rice tomorrow and will begin distributing it this week.
