Visa for Madagascar

Visa for Madagascar

A Tourist visa for Madagascar to get a tourist visa is very simple and straightforward. If you have a valid passport with you, which is also valid for at least six months, you have already fulfilled the most important requirement for obtaining a tourist visa. What you need in addition is an air ticket, which also already shows a return flight booked in advance. The authorities in Antananarivo airport will not require any further documents from you and will then issue you the visa on the spot in a completely uncomplicated manner. The classic visa valid for a stay of maximum 30 days and costs 25,00 Euro. If you wish to stay longer, you can also book a Tourist visa with a duration of up to 90 days This is then also subject to a fee. The 90-day visa cannot normally be extended. One possibility to avoid this bureaucratic hurdle, however, can be if you make a side trip to one of the various neighboring islands such as La Reunion and then come back to Madagascar. Here you can then get a new 90-day tourist visa. If you do not want to rely on the Visa for your vacation in Madagascar directly on site at the airport in Antananarivo, you have the opportunity to get the same already before your Trip to Madagascar to apply for a visa. The Malagasy consulate or the Malagasy embassy serve as contact points in this context. However, applying for a visa through these offices is associated with additional costs. You can simply download the application form from the embassy's website, fill it out and submit it either by registered mail or in person. Normally, the fees for a visa applied for in advance are as follows around 60,00 Euro per visa. For minors, consent forms must sometimes be available so that the entry can be carried out officially. This is sometimes also the case when minors enter the country accompanied by only one parent.

Vaccinations and importation

If you want to use your Madagascar vacation spend and for example a ornithological journey or a botanical journey then you should have the classical vaccinations like tetanus and Co. A special vaccination protection is not necessary on Madagascar. However, if you are entering from an African zone with yellow fever, a corresponding vaccination is sometimes required. Bringing plants or animal products and food is prohibited in parts when entering Madagascar and should therefore generally be avoided. The same applies to used beekeeping material

The changeover after entry

Quite frankly, the clocks in Madagascar tick a little differently than in Europe. This can mean quite a change for you. The best way to get through baggage claim, customs and the like at the airport is to get used to the new pace. The customs officers are generally very friendly and helpful. It is advisable to know the name of the hotel where you will be staying, as it sometimes happens that you will be asked for it. In the airport hall, there is usually a relatively large crowd and we advise you in the best case already to take care of a transfer in advance. Offers of help at the airport should be accepted rather less. If you book one of our travel packages, you normally also always have the Transfer from the airport to a nearby hotel integrated in the package. We will not only help you with your luggage, but also make sure that you have fast, safe and uncomplicated arrive at the hotel. After the exhausting flight you have earned your night's rest. Help

FOR MADAGASCAR

After 10 months of total inactivity, self-employed people in the tourism industry in Madagascar are completely without income. There is no opening of the borders in sight in Madagascar and we are at the beginning of the rainy season, which is the low season, even in normal times. I have started a fundraiser for the guides and drivers I know well. From this money we will buy rice and other essentials and distribute them regularly, if possible, until the resumption of travel activities in April 2021 at the earliest. My special thanks to those who have already donated. I will start buying rice tomorrow and will begin distributing it this week.
