We often visit this special reserve as an important stop in our various tours, which you can book for an exceptional Madagascar vacation can book. The special reserve is also known as Andasibe and is located a little more than 130 kilometers east of Antananarivo. The reserve is relatively small and mainly for the Indri-Indri populations known. Nowadays there are only very few of these giant lemurs left on Madagascar and the places where they find their food, which is important for their survival, are dwindling more and more. The Indri-Indris are especially famous for their extraordinary singing cries, which sound melodious and can hardly be compared with any other sound.

After 10 months of total inactivity, self-employed people in the tourism industry in Madagascar are completely without income. There is no opening of the borders in sight in Madagascar and we are at the beginning of the rainy season, which is the low season, even in normal times. I have started a fundraiser for the guides and drivers I know well. From this money we will buy rice and other essentials and distribute them regularly, if possible, until the resumption of travel activities in April 2021 at the earliest.
