Private Parks in Madagascar

Nature conservation concerns everyone

National parks, integral protected areas and special reserves play an important role on Madagascar. Since the arrival of man on this island, nature conservation has unfortunately been neglected far too much. The lack of awareness for this important factor can still be seen in large parts of the population of Madagascar. Active and lived nature conservation are unfortunately still foreign words for most average inhabitants of Madagascar today. In one of the poorest countries in the world, where people have to struggle every day anew for a dignified existence, nature is for many nothing more than a valuable place for resources. For keywords or concepts like Sustainability or ecological awareness there is often no room. The consequence is a Change of nature on the islandWhere a few centuries ago there were rainforests rich in species, today there is only dry desert sand or a karstified rocky desert. But even if the Madagascar nature has changed and large parts of what are now only very small areas of original primary forest are still endangered today, have Flora and fauna in Madagascar found numerous supporters. In recent years and decades, more and more private parks organizations and individualists to promote the cause of the Welfare of nature and the preservation of biodiversity insert

Private commitment to the preservation of biodiversity

Many private organizations dedicated to conservation in Madagascar through the establishment of private parks usually start in relatively small areas. They often have a single fixed purpose at the beginning, such as the conservation of a particular species of animal. In the course of developments However, the protection efforts then often expand and the private parks get their own infrastructure and implement various smaller conservation projects or even research stations. The operators behind the private parks usually put all their heart and soul into nature conservation, and they often depend on outside investors. This is precisely why visitors from outside are so welcome. Through entrance fees or fees for guided tours, the private operators get the financial resources they need to maintain nature conservation in the respective area.

Help

FOR MADAGASCAR

After 10 months of total inactivity, self-employed people in the tourism industry in Madagascar are completely without income. There is no opening of the borders in sight in Madagascar and we are at the beginning of the rainy season, which is the low season, even in normal times. I have started a fundraiser for the guides and drivers I know well. From this money we will buy rice and other essentials and distribute them regularly, if possible, until the resumption of travel activities in April 2021 at the earliest. My special thanks to those who have already donated. I will start buying rice tomorrow and will begin distributing it this week.
