Day 1: Arrival in Antananarivo
The first day is initially dedicated to your arrival in Madagascar. We will pick you up after your landing at the airport Ivato in the Madagascan capital Antanarivo and bring you to your place of accommodation in Villa Sibylle. If you have any food or beverage requests for your arrival, it is best to let us know in advance so we can take care of them.

Day 2: Drive from Antananarivo to Andasibe
Early in the morning you will drive east on the winding and well-maintained RN 2. On the way you will have the opportunity to visit the famous private reserve "MadagascarExotique" of the famous explorer Andre Pereyras where an unimagined variety of reptiles, amphibians and - in a nearby forest - lemurs pose unabashedly for the camera. Moramanga is the next stop before heading to the nearby Analamazoatra area. Near the Andasibe National Park You will have the opportunity to listen to the singing cries of the Indri Indris, who often come right into the hotel complex. Day 3- Andasibe / Mitsinjo
Today, after breakfast, you will visit the Mitsinjo Reserve. During the hike of several hours you will see Indri Indris and other, highly rare animal and plant species. After returning to the hotel in the late morning, we will go to the "Vakona Zoo": on the famous lemur island, which is approached by boat, numerous lemurs cavort, which were once taken from illegal captivity and "reintroduced" here. However, the animals have lost all shyness and literally jump on the visitors' noses, so washable rainwear is highly recommended. The nearby forest is home to a large number of crocodiles, the rare "fossa" and other zoological features of Madagascar and can be easily explored on a 1-2 hour walk. Day 4 - Andasibe to Mahanoro
After breakfast, you will leave the rainforest but the landscape remains lush green and the air is warm and humid. In Antsapanana there is a huge selection of tropical fruits to buy on the side of the road.After that the route becomes more curvy to Vatomandry, the place is already on the Indian Ocean.From Vatomandry it is then another 90 km on a not very good roads to Mahanoro.

Day 5 - Mahanoro to Ambohitsara
Departure on the Pangalan Channel by motorboat. After breakfast, the crew of the "Ravintsy motorboat with dining room, a panoramic terrace with deck chairs for watching, kitchen and toilet are also on board.The boat leaves Mahanoro and passes through the area of interest for its birds, then comes the crossing of the Mangoro River and continue up the narrow channel to the lake before docking in Ambohitsara.At sunset you will enjoy the terrace lounge bar under the pandanus trees and in front of the sea.The accommodation is simple andexceptional, 100% wilderness. Day 6 - Amdranotsara - Nosy-Varika - Ambahy
Departure towards the south on the canal, wide and narrower passages on the canal. Small villages on the banks of the river, forests and peaceful landscapes on the banks of the canal that then connects with the lake Analampotsy, the lake is crossed and then the river Sakaleona must be used to continue. This then leads to the small town of Nosy-Varika which we visit to stretch our legs. After this break on land, we continue south until we reach the village of Ambahy, where a "jungle camp" is set up for the night, each bungalow consists of a roof made of local plants that is water-repellent and dense. Underneath is a comfortable safari tent with two single beds each.Shower as the previous day with bucket and outdoor toilet. Day 7 - Ambahy - Mahela - Ambohitsra - Mananjary
After breakfast at the lodge we will visit the school and the bush health clinic and pharmacy. Here you can drop off useful donations (medicines, clothes, supplies). Visits to the village where we meet the local people are possible. After another three hours on the boat heading south we reach the village of Ambohitsara.on request another very interesting visit to the east coast. Ambohitsara is known for an east facing white elephant made of marble whose origin is still unknown and disputed. A mystery.After lunch on board we will continue south. At the end of the afternoon we reach Mananjary where the boat trip ends, a small peaceful port in the middle of nowhere surrounded by coconut trees and bougainvillea. Day 8 - Mananjary - Sahambavy
Continue through a very varied landscape that leads through the different vegetation zones up to the highlands .Overnight stay in one of the most beautiful hotels on the island, huge tropical garden on the shore of a lake, a tree house, a railroad car as a luxury apartment, bungalows on the lakeOvernight stay in Lac Hotel***.

Day 9 - Sahambavy via Fianarantsoa to Ambalavao
In the morning, a small guided walk is organized through small rice fields and especially through the Betsileo landscape. After leaving the town of Fianarantsoa and arriving in a small village where we will be invited to a typical Malagasy meal . In the afternoon we will continue towards Ambalavao, a very important city for the Zebu trade. The landscape changes into mountains, vineyards decorate the valleys and huge boulders stand surrounded by greenery.

Day 10 - Tsaranoro Mountains
This day is dedicated to hiking in the Tsaranoro mountain range. After breakfast, we slowly ascend to the Tsaranoro Valley, along ancient zebra paths, through vegetation that is very different from what we are used to: palm trees and other tropical plants show us, despite the altitude, that we are in a completely different climate zone than the day before.In the afternoon we arrive back at Tsarasoa Camp and enjoy cold drinks and the hospitality of the staff there.Depending on the wishes of the guests it can be day hikes from the lodge but you can also set up a camp in the mountains for an overnight which allows longer hiking tours.Overnight at Tsarasoa Lodge or in the tent

Day 11 - Tsaranoro to Isalo
Today we continue south, the fertile highlands end here and a landscape of huge granite rocks surrounds us. Short rest in Ihosy and then after about 2 hours drive we reach Ranohira, situated in the middle of the wide plateau of Horombe. Here lies the famous Isalo National Park which we will visit the next day.Overnight stay in the hotel "Isalo Rock Lodge****".

Day 12 - The Isalo National Park
Day of discovery of the Isalo Massif, its strange granite and sandstone sculptures and unique flora and fauna. The Isalo National Park includes a large part of the massif north of the RN7. It consists of continental sandstone from the Jurassic period whose shapes, colors and natural sculpture formation can be seen very differently in different areas of the park. Isalo is a vast area covering almost 82,000 hectares with an average elevation of 1000 meters.Amidst the barren and mineral landscape, there are magnificent natural pools and waterfalls surrounded by lush tropical nature.The duration and severity of the day's hike will be adjusted to the abilities of the participants. Day 13 - Ride from Ranohira via Ilakaka to Sarondrano
On this day of Journey through Madagascar Say goodbye to Ranohira and go by car to Ranohira. further south. Along the way there are several opportunities for Excursions an: Ilakaka Sapphire Mine, Zombitse Vohibasia National Park or the giant Baobab trees are just three possible examples. You will leave Tulear behind you and then directly go to Sarondrano. Here extends a stunning headland into the sea and beautiful dream beaches await you. The overnight stay takes place in the Résidence Eden Lodge an excellent guesthouse, which is still considered a real insider tip on the island.

Day 14 - Stay in Sarondrano and the surrounding area
The days at the Mozambique Channel on your Journey through Madagascar are all about various day trips and individual activities. Day 15 - Flight from Tulear to Antananarivo
This day is from Spirit of optimism characterized: After the relaxing days in Sarondrano, it's back to Tulear and from there by plane directly to the capital Antananarivo. Depending on the time of day you can then still explore the surrounding area, otherwise it goes directly to the hotel Villa Sybille or to an exceptional restaurant with excellent dining options.

Day 16-Stay in Antananarivo and the surrounding area
On the penultimate day of your exciting journey through Madagascar the capital of the island state is once again on the program: In Antananarivo, you will have numerous opportunities to go on Discovery tour to go. An example of a real attraction is the Lemurs Parkwhere many of the cute animals can be studied in detail.
