A flagrant lack of culture<\/h3>\n

As is well known, the art of cinematography comes from France. From there, the cin\u00e9matographe of the Lumi\u00e8re brothers soon conquered all of Europe and the world in a triumphal procession in the 19th century. In France's former colony of Madagascar, little remains of this heritage of the Grande Nation. Once, the capital Tana boasted of the \"Ritz Cinema\"<\/strong>where the haute societ\u00e9 of the colony gathered. Today, the cinema is no more than an abandoned ruin, and in the other major cities of the country there is not a single cinema left that meets European standards!<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

The contemporary cinema culture in Madagascar<\/h3>\n

Over time, the Malagasy have created their very own cinema. The locals are less interested in enjoying the film than in socializing. The conditions in Malagasy \"video cinemas\" make it almost impossible to take anything away from a film: up to 100 people sit in an unair-conditioned, stuffy room during film screenings. Mostly, only action films of inferior picture and sound quality are shown.<\/p>\n

But cinema in its original form offers more. Films from high artistic quality <\/strong>captivate viewers not only with fascinating images, but also with captivating content, offering a connecting element of education and entertainment <\/strong>and can give new impulses to perceive the world and oneself. For Madagascar, we would like to see a cinema that can really do justice to the potential of its inhabitants and have come up with the idea of a mobile traveling cinemas <\/strong>developed to travel the red island steadily.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

A new idea is born<\/h3>\n

The idea is as simple as it is captivating: a collapsible screen, a powerful projector, a PC or DVD player and a generator, as well as a few loudspeaker boxes would be the basis of the equipment of the mobile traveling cinema to tour Madagascar<\/strong>. The film material is exclusively culturally and artistically valuable films. Award-winning film classics and good documentaries not only provide entertainment for the locals, but are also an access to education, which unfortunately remains closed to the locals in the more remote places of the island.<\/p>\n

In order to reach as many locals as possible with the traveling cinema, the admission prices must be kept very low. For this reason, a cost-covering and thus self-supporting financing of the project is not possible despite all efforts. The initiators are therefore relying on Donations in kind and money needed<\/strong>. Therefore, we ask all interested parties who would like to support the project to contact us and participate in the realization of this promising project.<\/p>\n
