The Peyrieras Reserve or Madagascar Exotic<\/h2>\n

On the RN2 we head east towards the rainforest.<\/p>\n

On the way to Andasibe<\/a>, after a tremendous descent from the highlands, the green mountain cloud forests begin.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>The in the valley of the River Mandraka<\/a> located attraction is situated in the middle of a dense tropical forest with a natural pond, perfect for insect breeding.<\/p>\n

After that, the path of the reserve leads to a hilltop, from which you can see a wide view of the surrounding area.<\/p>\n

Since this place is only 72 km from the capital Antananarivo<\/a> the visit can be planned as a day trip, but this would involve a lot of driving. It would be much better to plan it as a sightseeing trip on the way to Andasibe<\/a> or further east in the direction of Sainte Marie<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Located at the entrance to the village of Marozevo there is a unique reserve to visit, Pereira's farm or the Madagascar Exotic, a breeding and reproduction center.<\/p>\n

Why Pereiras is an interesting stopover on a trip to Andasibe<\/a>, Ankanin' ny Nofy<\/a> and the Sainte Marie Island (Nosy Boraha)<\/a>?<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>On display are an incredible number of Chameleons<\/a> Of some species native to the island, ie. Chameleons<\/a> from areas that cannot possibly be seen on a single trip to Madagascar.<\/p>\n

All animals can be observed and photographed at close range, close skin contact is even possible.<\/p>\n

There are also many Geckos<\/a>, Uroplatys<\/a> which are almost invisible in the wild, Tomato frogs<\/a> and others Frogs from Madagascar<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Butterflies<\/a>, including the Comet butterfly<\/a>, if the visit takes place at the right time of year.<\/p>\n

Snakes<\/a> can also be seen up close, Boas<\/a> and even the very rare Langaha madagascariensis<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Tenreks<\/a>, Flying foxes<\/a> and Crocodiles<\/a> are also always on display.<\/p>\n

In the adjacent Game Reserve<\/strong> can Sifaka lemurs<\/a> be observed.<\/p>\n

The tours are available in English and French and they last up to two hours.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>This is an interesting overview from the amazing wildlife of Madagascar<\/strong>, some of the animals you will see during the various visits to the National Parks<\/a> of their itineraries but rarely so close and so easy to photograph.<\/p>\n

Madagascar Exotic is therefore also very popular for Photo travel,<\/a> especially of course for Animal and for macro photography<\/a>.<\/p>\n

It is available under Animal photographers<\/strong> very famous because of its proximity to the animals. It is one of the sites that would allow, under favorable conditions, good Wildlife shots<\/a> to make.<\/p>\n

It provides a nice introduction to the Fauna of Madagascar<\/a> thanks to the many different endemic species.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>Specifically, this reserve also serves as a breeding center, with a very beautiful setting of a valley with rice fields, mango trees and lychee plantations.<\/p>\n

The private reserve owes its name to the Entomologist and naturalist Andr\u00e9 Peyrieras<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n

On the road to Toamasina, after the descent from Mandraka, the Peyrieras Reserve is open daily from 7 am to 5 pm.<\/p>\n
